Iris Music Project

Iris Music Project is a grassroots organization that cultivates collaborative relationships between residents of healthcare communities, caregivers and professional musicians.

What we do

The Iris Music Project integrates professional musicians within retirement communities, nursing homes, and other healthcare institutions.

All musicians are trained in the unique model established by the Iris Piano Trio at the Charles E. Smith Life Communities, in Rockville, MD.

Music reshapes the way we think, act, and feel. Every age is merely a number, which through music, we can transcend.

Iris Piano Trio

Iris Piano Trio uses a collaborative, non-traditional approach to music-making, by sharing the design of performances and other programs, and by supporting community members as they create their own musical projects. Through performance, design, and discussion, our holistic approach creates meaningful connections across generations and transforms the lives of everyone involved.
